UN Chief's warning on Corona:Guterres said – more than 1.5 million new cases worldwide; New wave across Europe; Asia is no exception to this
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has warned about the rising corona cases worldwide. He said- the epidemic is not over yet because more than 15 lakh new cases are being reported daily across the world. A new wave is spreading across Europe because of the new variant. Asia is no exception to this.
Guterres said these things at a summit of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI) held on Friday to protect against the corona epidemic. He appealed to governments and pharma companies around the world to deliver the vaccine everywhere. He said that many countries are seeing the highest number of deaths since the start of the pandemic.
Highest weekly cases in South Korea
So far more than 49 crore cases of corona have been reported all over the world. At the same time, there have been more than 61 lakh deaths. If we look at the country-wise, the maximum number of new weekly cases have been found in South Korea (20.58 lakh), Germany (13.71 lakh), France (9.59 lakh), Vietnam (7.96 lakh) and Italy (4.86 lakh).
The US (4,435), Russia (2,357), South Korea (2,336), Germany (1,592) and Brazil (1,436) have the most weekly deaths worldwide.
Guterres said that the Omicron variant
tells us that the virus can mutate and spread very rapidly. If there is no vaccination, the risk of this increases even more. He said that the next variant is certain to come but there should be a question about when it will come. Due to the inequality of vaccines around the world, new variants are being created rapidly. More deaths are taking place due to the new variant.
Knocking
of XE Variant The new XE variant of Corona was first found in the UK on 19 January. According to WHO, this variant is 10 times more dangerous than BA.2. The new XE variant is said to be a hybrid strain of two Omicron sub-variants - BA.1 and BA.2. WHO has issued a warning regarding the XE variant. This variant has also been found in France, Denmark and Belgium.
